Gary Carbon Art

I’m an alum of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh with a background as both a designer/Creative Director and illustrator. In addition to illustration work I own a communications company with my wife of 10 years Suzanne - Carbon-Based Marketing.com.

I have over 20 years working in marketing/advertising and design. Including some work with geek cred, I worked with Skybox Trading Cards designing trading cards and packaging in the late 80’s early 90’s. Some of my work included the packaging for the 1st Marvel Masterworks featuring Joe Jusko (packs, POP box and collectors tin), Marvel Universe Series III (packs, POP box, tin and collector’s album), Disney’s Minnie ‘N’ Me (packaging and collector’s album), working on the Star Trek cards (designing the holograms), Designing the 1991 Hoops, and 1990 Olympic Cards as well as other less cool stuff like the Full House, Family Matters TGIF cards.

I’m currently located in Chicago, one of the greatest and under appreciated cites in the world. Beyond my wife, art and my work, I don’t dabble in much else – I like to converse about philosophy, politics and current events, our spoiled cats and the occasional movie. And I loved BattleStar Galactica - but come on, those last few episodes kinda of sucked.
