My primary media is Gouache on hot pressboard, although I’m experimenting more with oils. I start each illustration with a black and white base painting and then replace or paint on top of areas with a color of similar tonal value.

I prefer working with a limited color pallet. I pick a set of primary colors that have similar values to each other and that I feel are appropriate to the subject. I mix these primary colors and add black, white and/or grey paints to extend out my pallet for all the colors you see in a final painting.
